Melanie Acton, Leadership Lompoc Valley Panel Speaker LLV Panel Speakers

Poised and articulate, Melanie Acton, 16 years old, was among heavy hitters of the community, when she was a panel speaker in front of the Leadership Lompoc Valley Class of 2012 on December 16.  The other panel members were Joyce Howerton and Jason Reynolds, all well known community leaders and foundation members.

Ms Acton gave an in-depth presentation on the many teens and after school programs that are available at the Boys & Girls Club of Lompoc, including ASES, TOP, Passport to Manhood, Power Hour, Reading Plus, and many others.  She stressed the needs for volunteers and the difference they make in the life each child.

Melanie attracted and hekl the attention of the entire class.  Sgt Deanne Clement, Lompoc Police Department was so impressed, she said that Melanie is a young person we want on our Police Explorer group.
