Meet Jim Clark, BGCA's New President and CEO!
Welcome New Boys & Girls Clubs of America, CEO!
On Jan. 2, 2012, James (Jim) Clark joined Boys & Girls Clubs of America as President and CEO to lead the largest network of facility-based youth development organizations in the world. To introduce himself to Boys & Girls Clubs and the communities they serve, Jim spent his first day on the job visiting Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford, Conn., where the first Club was created in 1860 during the height of the industrial revolution. Surrounded by hundreds of children, parents, and community leaders, Jim visited with Club members on their last day of winter break, talking with them about issues such as why kids drop out of school, are not physically active, or bully others.
An expert on youth advocacy and Clubs, Jim previously served as the CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee for eight years, more than doubling the number of young people served to 35,000 and creating generation-changing programs aimed at driving outcomes in literacy, high school graduation, teen services and college preparation. Earlier, he worked in the for-profit publishing industry, while serving on the board for the Milwaukee Club.
Jim and his wife Samantha have two sons and are relocating to Atlanta where the national office is headquartered.
Hear what Jim has to say about Boys & Girls Clubs and how we can all make a difference.
