Joe Roderick - Unit Director, Goleta Clubhouse
Joe Roderick began working with United Boys & Girls Clubs in 2001, when he moved from San Diego to Santa Barbara with his wife Kai, who is a Santa Barbara native. Mr. Roderick grew up in Imperial California and moved to San Diego, where he earned a degree in Kinesiology from San Diego State University. He fostered his career in recreation and youth development while working in varying capacities with Murphy Canyon Youth Center, in San Diego, and ultimately managed his own center. As a Day Care and Summer Camp Director for Carpinteria Boys & Girls Club, Joe excelled and was aptly promoted to Program and Athletic Director in 2002, where his dedication earned him recognition from his peers as United Boys & Girls Clubs Employee of the Year in 2005. He continued his focused work through 2008 when he accepted a position as Unit Director for the Goleta Boys & Girls Club. An active father of twins, Mr. Roderick leads with a quiet strength that yields confidence and respect from the youth and community he serves.
Goleta West (UCSB Devereux Site)
The Goleta Club has had a partnership with UCSB since the year 2000; running an after school program primarily for staff children and Isla Vista Youth. In 2010, we moved the program to their recently purchased property now called "The West Campus." We are licensed for 110 Youth and are open for all our Boys & Girls Club Prgorams year around. This includes a new partnership with the Santa Barbara United Way and The Goleta Union School District for their Fun-in-the-Sun summer program.
