Athletic Programs
United Boys & Girls Clubs offer a variety of activities & sports for kids to participate.
We also have daily activities in the gyms such as: Dodgeball, Baseball, Flag Football, Basketball, Over the Line, Steal the Bacon, Tug-a-War, Soccer, and much more. These games are organized by our staff and we encourage the entire club to participate in the games, so each kid has some exercise for the day. In all of our sport programs, we strive to teach our youth that school work comes first, and that they need to take school seriously. Behavior is just as important as school to us, because when you wear the United Boys & Girls Clubs uniform, you represent all of Santa Barbara County.
Tackle Football
Out of all the sports programs we offer, Tackle Football is the most well known in Santa Barbara County. We are part of the Tri Valley Youth Football League and play against Santa Barbara, Lompoc, Vandenberg, Santa Ynez, El Rio, Ojai, and Nipomo. The fee is $175 which includes everything except the jersey, which we encourage the teams fundraiser to cover the cost. Our tackle football program is one of the most competitive programs around and we strive to teach the right way to play football to get our players ready to play at the High School level. Tackle football is in season from August through November.
Cheerleading
Cheerleading is a partner group to the Tackle Football Program. They are both called the Indians and they cheer for all the Indian Football Games. There are two different squads the Junior Squad & the Senior Squad. The cost for this program is $75 plus must be a current member of the club. Uniforms are not included.
Basketball League
Our In-house Basketball league is a local league that we run in the United Boys & Girls Clubs. We have four different divisions and, on average, about four teams in each division. The Biddy Division is for Kindergartner's to second graders, the Hot Shots is for third graders to fourth graders, the Gunners are for fifth through sixth graders, and the Majors is for seventh through eight graders. The Majors is a little more competitive to where they play some games on weekends against other Boys & Girls Clubs. The fee is $80 plus they must be a current member of the club. It is in season from December through March.
Soccer League
The Indoor Soccer league is very exciting with two different divisions. The first division is the Kindergartner's through Second graders, and the final division is the third graders through the fifth graders. All games are held in the gym at the club, and there are no out of bounds which makes for an exciting game with soccer balls flying off the walls. The cost for this program is $75 which includes uniform. This program runs from March through June if needed.
