What We Do

The United Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Barbara County (UBGC) are vital for thousands of young people, providing them with safe, positive places to learn and grow. Boys & Girls Clubs are known as centers of tutoring, sports, and after-school meals but they are so much more than that. At UBGC, life-changing mentoring groups, education programs, affordable summer camps, and a wide variety of youth programs all work together towards one purpose: doing whatever it takes to make better futures for children and our community.

History & Background

For 83 years, Boys & Girls Clubs have served children ages 5-18 in Santa Barbara County with quality after-school programs. Since the opening of the first club site in 1938 with a handful of members, UBGC has expanded to serve thousands of youth members with facilities in Carpinteria, Downtown & Westside Santa Barbara, Goleta, Solvang, Buellton, and Lompoc. UBGC also operates Camp Whittier off Hwy 154 near Lake Cachuma.
