Youth Mentor Program Cooridnator
Position Overview:
This position oversees the mentor program implemented at the club site under the OJJDP guidelines. Plans, implements, supervises, and evaluations programs in 5 core areas including; education, arts, recreation, athletics, and technology. Develops and fosters healthy relationships, with all youth, in assigned shared space.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement Mentor Program and meet deliverables for OJJDP Mentoring Grant.
Collaborate and partner with other nationally recognized mentoring agencies to recruit, train and supplement existing mentoring program
Submit program reports in timely manner (quarterly) via Online Program Reporting System; review reports with Director at least 1 week prior to due date
Track and report mentor and mentee hours in the Clubs Member Tracking System.
Organize, plan and implement mentor training, parties and recognition in collaboration with partnering agencies.
Provide guidance to volunteer mentors as they work to build supportive relationships with our club members.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent required
AA degree preferred, but not required
Passion to work with youth of various ages
Ability to deal effectively with members, including discipline problems
Adaptability and flexibility to changes in work environment
Cleared background check and drug screen
United Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Barbara County (UBGC)
Location: In-person at Westside Unit
Status: Part-time, Non-Exempt
Hours: 20 - 28 hours per week
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
