Food Program Cook
Position Overview:
The Food Program Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and assembling daily meals for all club sites according to USDA, CACFP, and SFSP guidelines. This role includes meal production, inventory support, food pickup, and maintaining high standards of kitchen safety and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, cook, and assemble meals for multiple club sites
Ensure all meals meet CACFP/SFSP nutritional standards
Order and pick up food and supplies as needed
Assist with meal transportation and inventory management
Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment
Complete required sanitation and safety documentation
Work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting
Qualifications:
Required:
ServSafe Food Handler’s Certificate
Minimum one year of institutional or large‑scale food preparation experience
Valid California Driver’s License (Class B preferred)
Ability to pass background checks, TB test, CPR/First Aid certification, and required trainings
Preferred:
Associate Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Knowledge of large‑scale food prep, sanitation, and nutritional requirements
Strong organizational and leadership skills

Location: In-person at Westside Unit
Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Hours: 32 - 40 hours per week
Pay: $19.56 - $24.75 per hour
