Teen Program Specialist

Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of teens? Do you have experience in youth development, education, or recreation? If so, you might be the perfect candidate for our teen program specialist position.

We are looking for a dynamic and creative person who can plan and organize daily activities and programs for our teen club members at ou Lompoc Unit. You will work with teens from diverse backgrounds and help them develop their skills, interests, and goals.

Overview:

The Teen Programs Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing programs that foster Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character & Citizenship for middle and high school members, in alignment with United Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Barbara County policies and procedures. This role requires engaging with youth, coordinating outreach, and ensuring the successful operation of teen-focused programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and oversee Teen Center programs, activities, and services aligned with organizational priority outcomes.

  • Lead outreach efforts to increase teen membership, including attending school events and collaborating with teachers and youth organizations.

  • Develop and implement engaging weekly "Stay Late" programs for teens and tweens.

  • Provide leadership to ensure the safety, conduct, and development of teen members.

  • Monitor and track teen attendance and participation in programs using the member management system.

  • Ensure all teen area equipment is maintained in good working condition.

  • Collaborate with the Club Director to expand and enhance teen programming, including outreach and program development.

Required Skill & Qualifications:

  • Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Ability to manage member behavior, including discipline and parent engagement.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with youth, parents, and community leaders.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Valid driver's license with a clean record (must be 21+).

    • Travel between club sites, schools, and field trip locations may be required

  • Must pass a criminal background check, complete required BGCA trainings, and obtain/maintain CPR and First Aid Certification.

Status: Part-time, Non-Exempt
Hours: 20-28 hours per week
Pay: $18.50 - $23.41 per hour
Start Date: Open Until Filled
